Media Mentions of Chlois Theory

Sometimes, more often of late, we get mentioned in the media or from the network, places outside of the normal fandom haunts.  Here are quotes from various people and outlets who mention of in response to questions, in interviews, blog reviews, or just of their own volition.

"On an entirely different subject: Al Gough and Miles Millar, I implore you, please let the Chlois Theory be somehow true. I don’t like tortured, multidimensional crises in my comic-book universe any more than you do, but if that’s what it takes to make Chloe (Allison Mack) the real Lois Lane, then, by Zod, do it. Sorry, Temp Lois (Erica Durance). You've been shown up. The Mack Lois is simply a superior being, and ain't life cruel?" -- Scott Brown, Senior Writer, Entertainment Weekly Magazine.

TVGuide.com: Let's talk about "Chlois" — that is, the theory held by some fans that somehow, some way, Chloe will turn out to be the real Lois. Are you familiar with the concept?

Mack: Yeah, that's been the theory since the very beginning of the show, because before Lois showed up, Chloe sort of did everything Lois did — except have the love of Clark. And she still does, this season especially, since she has the affection of Jimmy Olsen [to be played by Aaron Ashmore], which was another attribute Lois had in the comic book. It's an interesting theory, but we do have a Lois. I hate to disappoint anyone, but I don't think I will end up being Lois....

From trillian0921: On Smallville--will there be any Clark & Lois relationship this season? Is Chloe going to absorb Lois in some sort of meteor-related disaster so he can be with his true lurve, Chlois?

Kristin: Ha! Wouldn't that be fantastic. I can tell you that Clark and Lana are over, over, over--at least for a good while. And it's looking good for him and one half of the Chlois concoction!

"The single most imbecilic addition to Season Four was the introduction of Chloe's cousin... After having spent several seasons setting up Chloe to most likely become Lois in a few years through a simple name change and a move to Metropolis, the introduction of Lois at this stage of the game was a deus ex machina that lacked far too many cogs and wheels to work in the slightest. "...to compound their error, they decide to bring in Erica Durance as Lois Lane, stealing yet more screen time from the only young woman who can act worth a damn on the show, while making it damn near impossible to provide a satisfying resolution to the whole saga by eventually having our Big Dumb Alien realize that the friend he's been ignoring for however many seasons is the woman he's really been looking for all that time; would it really have killed them to have Chloe Sullivan eventually become Lois Lane? "

"The only way that Lois will become what she is in the comics and be better than Chloe, is if Chloe dies or become the President of the United States. But this will be Lex's job and Perry White will be the Daily Planet's Editor, so the only way is with Chloe dying. Because never, but never Lois will be better than Chloe in anything.

Chloe Sullivan with Lex and Lionel is one of the best characters on this show. Smart, romantic, dreamer, ambitious and competitive, Chloe is everything that Lois should be."
